COMMENT by Eric Lindsley I had been thinking and talking about wanting to hit the GLC drop since before I had my 4-wheeler. So when I got it and found myself in Whistler I knew it was time to step up. I took a look at the drop with one of the trail builders, Ryan. Ryan went up after work Fri night and cleaned up the lip so I had a consistent take-off. I timed my hit so it would be about 20 minutes before pro-slopestyle, so there would be a maximum crowd. I rolled up to the hit once to get a feel for the run in. The crowd saw me at the lip and I saw people starting to encourage me. I am sure there were a few in the crowd that did not want to watch. I then moved up to the bottom of the A-line berm where I could get enough speed. I put on my gear and sat there looking down at the drop thinking, "Wow, I am a DUMB Mother F&%*er!". I sat there for a solid five minutes. Then I released the brakes and it was game on. I flew off the edge, nosed in and I was so stoked when I landed it clean. The crowd went nuts and the rest is history. |
